The 2024 Hyundai Kona Unveiled at New York Auto Show

The 2024 Kona is an exceptional vehicle designed to support active lifestyles with its rugged, dynamic design and innovative technologies, making for a safe, connected, and comfortable driving experience. Among the features included are dual 12.3-inch panoramic display screens, the Digital Key 2 Touch, Over-the-Air software updates, and the next-generation infotainment system. 

Additionally, the Kona's unique proportions offer a more extensive interior volume, with a length of 4,351 mm and an overall width of 1,826 mm, providing plenty of room for drivers and passengers of all ages. On top of this, the Kona Electric boasts a futuristic and EV-centric exterior design with a drag coefficient of just 0.27, while the Kona's iconic design is accentuated by the choice of vivid exterior colours.

Equipped with a long-range 64.8-kWh battery, this electric vehicle is estimated to deliver an impressive range of 418 km based on preliminary internal Hyundai tests. But that's not the only thing that sets the Kona Electric apart. It also features a range of advanced technologies, including vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability, i-PEDAL driving mode, smart regenerative system, and active grille shutters. 

With V2L, drivers can use the car's battery to power their electronic devices, while the i-PEDAL driving mode provides a seamless driving experience with just one pedal. The smart regenerative system captures energy during braking and coasting and redirects it to the battery, enhancing the car's efficiency. And the active grille shutters optimize aerodynamics and improve the driving range. Two Other Powertrains

The all-new 2024 Hyundai Kona offers a choice of two gasoline powertrains, with top efficiency levels as a key target. The 2.0-litre 4-cylinder Atkinson engine produces an estimated 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque, paired with a Smartstream Intelligent Variable Transmission for maximum efficiency. Meanwhile, the N Line and Limited trims offer a 1.6-litre 4-cylinder direct-injected, turbocharged engine generating an estimated 190 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque, coupled with an eight-speed automatic transmission for outstanding efficiency with smooth, seamless shifting and brisk acceleration.

Kona N Line

The Kona N Line, the sporty variant, features bodycolor cladding, 19-inch N Line alloy wheels, N Line rear spoiler, dual-outlet exhaust tips, Bose premium audio, sport seating with red accents, aluminum sport pedals, N Line scuff plates and black mirrors. The N Line's aggressive, wing-shaped front and rear fascia designs emphasize a lower stance for an even sportier appearance, while the Kona's long wheelbase, short overhangs, and wide track create a planted stance that results in exceptional agility in urban environments with enhanced linear stability and ride comfort.
