New Hyundai IONIQ 5 priced at $49,999

The all-new 2022 Hyundai IONIQ 5 will go on sale for $49,999, right under the $45,000 threshold that makes it eligible for the Canadian iZEV federal EV incentive program. The new Hyundai electric vehicle goes on sale now with pre-orders officially opened at Winnipeg Hyundai.

There will be five versions of the Hyundai IONIQ 5, all eligible for the iZEV program. They will all offer over 350 kilometres of range:

• 2022 Hyundai IONIQ 5 Essential – 354 kilometres of range - $44,999
• 2022 Hyundai IONIQ 5 Preferred – 354 kilometres of range - $46,999
• 2022 Hyundai IONIQ 5 Preferred Long Range – 480 kilometres of range - $51,999
• 2022 Hyundai IONIQ 5 Preferred Long Range AWD – 415 kilometres of range - $54,999
• 2022 Hyundai IONIQ 5 Preferred Long Range AWD w/Ultimate Package – 415 kilometres of range - $54,999

Each model makes use of one of two available battery packs, one with 58 kWh and the other with 77 kWh. The dual-motor configuration that enables all-wheel drive offers a combined 320 horsepower and hearty 446 pound-feet which will power the IONIQ 5 to 100 km/h in just 5.1 seconds.

Built using an impressive 800-volt architecture, the IONIQ 5 can charge from 10 percent to 80 percent in just 18 minutes while also offering a range of advanced safety and connectivity technologies.
